Concerns over pedestrians safety on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) has taken a centre stage again after  19-year-old Sanjay Aditya Giri was reportedly hit by a car on 29 November. He was trying to cross the road.

Bellandur residents are now demanding for basic road amenities like flyovers and overhead bridge on ORR. The residents are set to organise a human chain on Wednesday demanding action.

Crossing this stretch by day, even with a group of people, is a nightmare complains residents. "Imagine my plight when I had to cross it one night at 8 pm all alone. I took 8 minutes totally. First I needed courage to cross the Bakasur side part (had to time it with the light change at the Sarjapur signal). Getting across the next half was even worse, as there is no break in traffic with a continuous stream coming at high speed off the flyover," said Odette Katrak, Bellandur resident.
