Bengaluru: Police arrest three for house theft; recover gold worth Rs 78 lakh

Bengaluru: The Jayanagar police arrested three men for breaking into a house, and recovered stolen gold worth Rs 78 lakh.

On July 20, the complainant returned home after dropping his son at the airport to find the house burgled and valuables missing. He immediately alerted the police.

The trio was arrested on July 22 near the Turahalli Forest in Thalaghattapura. During questioning, they confessed to the crime.

The police found the suspects had also stolen a two-wheeler to carry out the theft. The vehicle and 50 grams of gold were recovered from a friend of the suspects.

The total stolen ornaments recovered were 1.85 kg, the police said, adding that the suspects were remanded in judicial custody.
