<p>The South East division police claimed to have recovered stolen properties worth Rs 6.2 crore over the past few months by arresting 150 suspects. The police said they had solved 224 cases with these arrests. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Among the 150 suspects is a couple who had 45 warrants against them. Kalkere Manja and his wife Sumitra lived a lavish life, bought farm lands, moved around in expensive cars and always wore gold jewellery weighing half kilo. They were arrested by the Hulimavu police. <br />Manja, a resident of Ranipet in Tamil Nadu, landed in Bangalore and worked in a farmhouse at Kalkere. Later, he took to crime. <br /><br />The couple used to walk into plush apartment complexes, break into locked flats and steal valuables. The security guards would never suspect the well-dressed couple.<br /><br />Also arrested were Homagatta Manja and his associates - Sharatkumar, Velu, Arun, Harish Babu and Ramesh - who burgled locked flats using similar modus operandi. In all, around 2.5 kg of gold items, 40 kg of silver articles and other expensive materials were recovered.</p>
