<p class="bodytext">The Kallur Mahalaxmi Tabala Vidyalaya, based in Banashankari 3rd Stage, is celebrating its 40th anniversary on Sunday, May 25.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The celebrations also mark the 60th birthday of its founder, Pandit Rajgopal Kallurkar. Two books by Kallurkar, who plays tabla solo and accompanies some of India’s greatest classical musicians, will be released. The institute has groomed hundreds of students, some of whom have become accomplished stage performers.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Renowned vocalist Pandit Vinayak Torvi and tabla maestro Pandit Ravindra Yavagal are the chief guests. The day-long celebrations, beginning at 9 am, include a flute concert by Pandit Pravin Godkhindi and his son Shadaj Godkhindi.
