Techie killed in accident

A 35-year-old software engineer was killed in a road accident near Veerasandra junction in Electronics City on Friday night.

According to the police, the deceased is Mushtaq Ahmed, a native of Udupi, who was working as a software engineer in a company in Electronics City. The accident occurred when he was on his way to a petrol bunk to get his bike refuelled.

Around 10.45 pm, he was riding his two-wheeler when a speeding lorry bearing a Tamil Nadu registration number hit the bike from the rear. Ahmed fell down and suffered head injuries. Passersby shifted him to a nearby private hospital where he was declared brought dead. On getting information, the Electronics City traffic police went to the spot and seized the lorry. The driver is absconding, said the police. A case has been registered in Electronics City traffic police station.
