<p>Bengaluru: The Karnataka government on Tuesday approved a proposal to increase the number of police divisions in Bengaluru from eight to 11.</p><p>The new divisions — North West, South West, and Electronics City — will join the existing Central, West, East, South, Southeast, North, Northeast, and Whitefield divisions.</p><p>The expansion of the city police commissionerate was first announced by Chief Minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/siddaramaiah">Siddaramaiah</a> in March during the state budget presentation.</p><p>As per the government order, each of the three new divisions will be headed by a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), supported by one Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), five head constables, six constables, and 11 other support staff.</p><p>The North West division will have Peenya as its sub-division, headed by an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), with six police stations: Peenya, Rajagopal Nagar, Bagalagunte, Byadarahalli, Soladevanahalli, and Gangammanagudi.</p>.Bengaluru prison radicalisation case: NIA arrests three, including jail psychiatrist, policeman.<p>The South West division will include two sub-divisions — Kengeri and Subramanyapura — headed by two ACPs. The police stations under this division are Kengeri, Jnanabharathi, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Kumbalgodu, Thalaghattapura, Subramanyapura, Kumaraswamy Layout, and Konanakunte.</p><p>The third, Electronics City division, will have a single sub-division with six police stations: Electronics City, Hulimavu, Begur, Parappana Agrahara, Bandepalya, and Hebbagodi.</p><p>The order also notified structural changes to a few sub-divisions under the existing divisions, following the formation of the new ones.</p>
