Opened as a tiny eatery 15 years back, it has spread its taste across South Bengaluru — Jayanagar 3rd block, 5th block and VV Puram...they have five branches across South Bengaluru, which is always crowded with predominantly college-goers. <br /><br /></p>.<p>“This place was originally named ‘Hindupur Sandwich’ and it was run by a lady named Vimalamma. I worked under her and later took over the place as she was unable to manage. That is when I named it ‘Hari Super Sandwich’, after my son Harish, and it has been 15 years since then and it is still running successfully,” says the owner of the place, Shivanna.<br /><br />A simple place with an open kitchen facing the road, the place has dedicated workers providing swift service to customers. ‘American cheese corn’, ‘chilly cheese’, ‘dahi toast’, ‘gulkand toast’, ‘hari special’, ‘corn dahi toast’...they have a variety of 16 sandwiches to offer. The unique sandwich here is the ‘chocolate sandwich’. Melted chocolate sandwiched between the soft toasted breads is the taste to pine for. Apart from the sandwiches, one can even grab the ‘chindi chats’ like ‘dahi boondh’, ‘dahi chudwa’, ‘dhal masala’ and ‘bread masala’....<br /><br />What makes their sandwich superior? “The ‘green chutney’ that we use in our sandwich is one-of-its-kind. My wife Vijayalakshmi, went to Hindupur and learnt the art of making this ‘chutney’. It is she who makes this ‘chutney,’ even till date, and that is the main ingredient that makes our sandwich stand apart from the rest,” he says.<br /><br />The soft bread piece smeared with fresh butter and green chutney sliced with cheese and desired ingredient, is again smeared with butter and toasted on a tawa. They are then cut into tiny pieces of six and served hot, that makes for a mouth-watering sandwich. What adds to the taste is their special bread that is freshly brought from Hindupur bread factory in Andhra Pradesh. <br /><br />A tiny and tidy eatery, this place is frequently visited by well-known personalities like actress Tara, Shiva Rajkumar, Malavika Avinash, Sihi Kahi Chandru and many more.
