Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar remains the spotlight most of the time, either for his sarcastic digs at political opponents or more lighthearted moments like cycling around the streets of Bengaluru.

One such moment, however, recently turned a little awkward for the Congress leader as he took a tumble in front of the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru while trying to get off his bicycle that he had rode to the state legislature.

The incident was caught on camera, a clip of which is now going viral on social media.

In the video, DKS can been seen getting off his bicycle in front of the Vidhan Soudha stairs. He appeared to loose balance and after failing to apply brakes, fell on the stairs of the building. Police personnel and other officials present on the spot helped the deputy CM get up.

Netizens did not hold back while poking fun at the legislator. Some were also quick to point that D K Shivakumar had a Louis Vuitton stole around his neck in the viral video. Users claimed that the stole is worth over Rs 2 lakh.

"Louis Vuitton Shawl @DKShivakumar The shawls you wear are super, I'll go and get them today (sic)," wrote one user. Others pointed out that DKS might have accelerated the electric bicycle instead of applying brakes which led to the fall.

Users did not miss the opportunity to highlight the condition of Bengaluru's infrastructure and a netizen wrote, “Sir, do some cycling in ORR sometimes with the fantastic infrastructure that you have created for common citizens!”

Earlier in the day, the deputy CM took to X and posted a picture of him cycling in the Vidhan Soudha premises. "In the corridors of power, I chose a cycle - because progress doesn’t always need horsepower, just people power," he wrote.
