The state disciplinary committee of the BJP, headed by Lingaraj Patil, has issued a show-cause notice to former Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat for filing nomination papers as Independent candidate from the southwest graduates’ constituency for the Legislative Council elections slated.
The notice, dated May 22, has set a 48-hour deadline for Bhat to explain why he was contesting as an Independent.
