Central team to tour taluks hit by drought, floods

A Central team will understake a three-day tour of the State from September 23 to assess the flood and drought situation.

Briefing reporters, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the team will tour the drought and flood-hit taluks till September 26, before submitting its report to the Centre.

The State government has already sent a comprehensive report to the Centre. The Central government would release grants for relief work soon after the team submits its report, he said, adding from the State side, funds had been released for repair of damaged houses and roads and to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
