<p>The decennial celebrations of Navodaya Self-Help Groups will be organised under the aegis of South Canara District Central Co-operative (SCDCC) Bank in association with the Navodaya Grama Vikasa Charitable Trust (NGVC) at Paduthirupathi Ground in Karkala on February 12, 13 and 14.<br /><br />Briefing media persons here on Tuesday, Chairman of SCDCC Bank and NGVC Trust M N Rajendra Kumar said that a ‘Samuhika Mahalaxmi Pooje’ will be offered under the guidance of Vedamoorthi Ishwar Bhat on February 12.<br /><br />The decennial programmes will be inaugurated by Union Labour Minister Mallikarjuna Kharge at 10 am. State Co-operative Minister Lakshman Savadi will preside over the inaugural function while MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, NABARD Chairman Umeshchandra Sarangi, former state Minister Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli and Co-operative Societies Registrar H V Parshwanath will be the guests, Kumar said.<br /><br />Meanwhile, A felicitation programme will be organised for Navodaya SHGs at 5.30 pm on same day. MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik will honour SHGs while Karkala MLA Gopala Bhandari will preside, he added. <br /><br />CM to open celebrations<br /><br />Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will inaugurate the decennial celebrations on February 13 at 10 am. Home Minister Dr V S Acharya, Large and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani, Former Union Minister Oscar Fernandes, MP D V Sadananda Gowda will be the guests, Kumar said.<br /><br />A seminar will be organised for women SHG members at 3 pm on same day which will be inaugurated by former Minister Shobha Karandlaje. Puttur MLA Mallika Prasad will preside, he added.<br /><br />‘Sadhana Samavesha,’ a convention on achievement, will be held under the chairmanship of Sri Kshetra Dharmastala Dharmadhikar Dr Veerendra Heggade on February 14 at 10 am. Union Minister for Law and Justice M Veerappa Moily will inaugurate the convention, Kumar explained adding that former state Ministers H D Revanna and D K Shivakumar will be the guests. <br /><br />District In-charge Minister J Krishna Palemar will deliver the valedictory address at 3 pm on same day. The State Third Finance Task Force Chairman A G Kodgi and MLC M C Nanaiah will be the guests, he informed.
