CM lays foundation for KIC office

The Karnataka Information Commission, which has been functioning from a rented space, will now get an office space of its own.

Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar on Thursday laid the foundation stone for the new building, which will come up on a government land beside the Multi-Storey Building.

The Rs 17 crore project, taken up by the Public Works Department, is said to be completed in the next two years.

The building with basement, ground floor, plus three floors, will comprise of two court halls, two commissioner’s chambers and an office space for the 100-odd employees.

Presently three courts are functioning in the MS Building, while the remaining three have been set up at the Mythic Society.
