<p>Bidar: District incharge Minister Eshwar Khandre on Sunday visited the deceased civil contractor Sachin Panchal’s house at Katti Thugaon in Bhalki taluk and assured the family members that action would be taken against the accused persons involved in the death of the contractor.</p>.<p>The contractor died by suicide by lying down in front of a moving train on December 26, alleging life threats by minister Priyak Kharge close aide Raju Kapnoor and his associates.</p>.<p>The minister announced an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh, and a government job to one of the family members of the contractor.</p>.<p class="bodytext">High drama was witnessed when the police officers, including SP Pradeep Gunti and DySP J S Nyamgouda, accompanying Khandre, entered the house. </p>.Eyes everywhere: Karnataka Dy CM warns NY revellers, urges them to behave.<p class="bodytext">The sisters of the deceased contractor expressed their anguish against the police for not accepting their brother’s complaint. They held the police responsible for Sachin’s death.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Sensing that the situation was going out of control, the men in uniform walked out of the house.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Terming the suicide a painful incident, the minister said, “It is an unfortunate incident. The government has already initiated action against those responsible for it and the police who refused to take complaint. I was in Belagavi. I directed the police to take up the investigation after I got to know about the incident. Government is with you and I will ensure that justice is done,” the minister told the inconsolable family members.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Khandre said that the Railway Police (GRP) was probing the suicide case and that the government would also consider handing over the investigation of the case to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).</p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of his meeting with the family members of the contractor, Khandre said, “I spoke to the family members. They have sought a free and transparent investigation in the case. Disciplinary action will also be taken against the police who refused to register a case. I have spoken to senior police officials. Action has been taken against a few policemen,” the minister said.</p>
