Tourism Minister C P Yogeeshwar had convened a meeting of BJP workers from Ramnagara and Channapattana at Nisargadhama Tourist Centre and Harangi.

The party leaders explained the problems faced in villages. Speaking on the occasion, the minister promised to solve the problems in a phased manner.

Covid rules violated

Amid the surge in Covid-19 cases, the government had issued precautionary measures to be taken in tourist places.

In spite of it, everyone, including the minister, was seen violating the rules.

The party workers were seen not wearing a mask and not maintaining social distancing.

The minister also lost his cool when the reporters questioned him over the same.

“Nothing has happened in Covid. The intensity is not known,” said Yogeeshwar.

When asked about the CD row pertaining to Ramesh Jarkiholi, he said that he is not aware of the details in the issue.

Appeal for promotion of tourism

BJP leaders submitted a memorandum to the minister on the development works that need to be taken to promote tourism in Kodagu.

Kushalnagar BJP leaders, Mandala general secretary M D Krishnappa and others had met the minister.

In a memorandum, the leaders said that natural calamities in the last three years had cast a shadow on the tourism sector. The tourist spots are wearing a deserted look.

Those who are dependent on the tourism sector are inconvenienced. The government should release funds for the development of tourist spots, they appealed.
