Dance row: Cops book six

Male Mahadeshwara Hill police have registered a case against six persons in connection with a dance programme by scantily dressed women, during a Ganeshothsava celebration at Male Mahadeshwara Hill, on Monday night.

Based on the plaint by temple superintendent Madhavaraju, the police have registered a case against Male Mahadeshwara Swami Development Authority Employees’ Union president A H Govinda, secretary P Mahadevaswamy, vice-president Ponnaiah and employees Rajendra, Karthik and Basavanna. According to plaint, the authority gave permission for the immersion of Ganesha idol near temple. But, the association members had organised the cultural programme. Authority secretary K M Gayathri has suspended two employees Mahadevaswamy and Basavanna in connection with the incident.
