Yadgir: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday made serious allegation against former prime minister H D Deve Gowda that the JD(S) patriarch had planned his MP-grandson Prajwal Revanna's safe exit from the country. Prajwal, who is seeking re-election from Hassan as NDA candidate, is accused of sexually abusing several women.

Speaking to reporters at Devatkal in Surpur taluk of Yadgir district, Siddaramaiah said, "Why did Amit Shah give ticket to Prajwal despite knowing that he was involved in a sex scandal?. The SIT will conduct a fair and transparent probe to bring out the truth, he said.

When asked about H D Kumaraswamy's allegations that D K Shivakumar was behind the pen drive, the chief minister defended his deputy saying he (DKS) has no role in the case. "Karthik is Prajwal's ex-driver. He has given the pen drive to a BJP leader. How is Shivakumar connected...Kumaraswamy's allegations against Shivakumar are politically motivated," Siddaramaiah said.
