Dist-level science expo held

Speaking after inaugurating district-level science exhibition organised by the Education Department, at St Joseph’s High School in Madikeri on Thursday, she said the students should develop scientific temperament and expand their horizon. “Science helps in protecting society and environment,” she said.

Block Education Officer Kamaraiah said that rapid developments have been taking place in the field of science. There is a need to create awareness on latest scientific develop  among students.

Students of various high schools of Kodagu district took part in the exhibition. There were exhibitions on the topic ‘bio diversity and its protection,’ ‘agriculture and technology,’ ‘green power,’ transport and communication, ‘community health and environment’ and mathematics models.

Selected

A team was selected under each theme to take part in the state-level science exhibition competition. They include students of St Joseph School, Madikeri on the theme ‘bio diversity,’ St Michael High School students on the theme ‘agriculture,’ St Joseph’s High School students on the theme ‘green power,’ Virajpet St Annamma School on the theme ‘transport,’ Made Maheshwara High School students on the theme ‘community health and Kushalnagar’ and Fathima High School students for mathematics models have been selected for the state-level contest.
