Eight more nominations were filed for the bypolls to Nanjangud Assembly constituency on Tuesday, taking the total to 14. However, only two candidates — Geetha Mahadeva Prasad of the Congress and C S Niranjan Kumar of the BJP have filed their papers for the bypolls to Gundlupet constituency. Tuesday was the last day to file nominations.
The scrutiny of the nomination will be taken up on Wednesday and the last day to withdraw the nominations is March 24. The candidates for Nanjangud include Kalale N Keshavamurthy (Congress) and V Srinivas Prasad (BJP).
