Enact Rohith Vemula Act, Priyank urges Siddaramaiah

He said this was 'to prevent discrimination of SC/ST and OBC students in higher education institutions.'

Bengaluru: IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge said on Thursday that he has urged CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D K Shivakumar to enact the 'Rohith Vemula Act' to prevent discrimination of SC/ST and OBC students in higher education institutions.

"No student should face exclusion or injustice because of social, economic or religious background. Our government is committed to social justice," he said in a post on 'X' on the occasion of Vemula's birth anniversary.

"I have urged the CM and deputy CM to consider implementing the ‘Rohith Vemula Act,' aimed at preventing discrimination," he said.
