<p>The understanding reached between district unit and state body of the chamber of commerce and industry sought to work for the betterment of investment opportunities and infrastructure. <br /><br />N S Srinivasa Murthy, president of FKCCI, addressing the Managing committee members of both the organisations said: “We would like to have your inputs on the various areas such as taxation, trade, APMC, tourism, infrastructure and industry where Mysore is facing problems. We will take up the issue in an appropriate forum. </p>.<p>We will act as facilitators in addressing issues related to the growth of trade, industry and service in the district. We will play a major role in identifying the gaps and bring it to the notice of the concerned departments for early implementation,” he assured at the Interaction organised at the Institution of Engineers here, on Saturday. </p>.<p>He said Mysore district has immense potential for growth. Unfortunately, most of the leading old industries have been closed. At the same time, it gives happiness to note that some industries are doing well despite odds. Tourism is another sector where the city was blessed. It has made a mark on the world tourism map. Other parts of the district are yet to see growth in tourism, he opined. <br /><br />Murthy said FKCCI had developed a good rapport with the state government and other statutory bodies through its proactiveness. The federation observed this year as the “Districts Development”, in a bid to support the districts see better days in commerce and investments. “It aims to focus on developmental activities in districts and creating an environment conducive for growth. The growth is possible only when necessary inputs and linkages are provided,” he said. </p>.<p>Referring to state government’s proposed Agri Business summit 2011 in September, he said it would attract investments in different areas of agriculture and allied activity. “It is a noble idea and will give an opportunity to the farmers in state to improve their agri practices. It would also help in development of rural economy,” he said. </p>.<p>On the occasion, H D Raghavendra, president of MCCI appealed the FKCCI to promote Mysore as a best estimation for the automobile industry and garments. He also sought the intervention of the apex body to exert pressure on state government for declaring Mysore as heritage city, improving basic infrastructure in tourist places.
