Hampi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held a pre-budget meeting with ministry officials at a resort at Malapanagudi near the heritage town on Saturday. 

She holds such meetings prior to every budget at different places in the country. The move has kindled hopes among the local people that the budget will have special grants on offer for Hampi, to develop its historic monuments from Vijayanagar era.
