Mysuru: Former MP Prathap Simha, of the BJP, made a controversial comment once again. He issued a casteist comment against Labour Minister Santhosh Lad, in Mysuru, on Saturday.

“Lad, who is from the Maratha community, is not speaking like Chatrapathi Shivaji. He speaks like Shivaji’s enemy Afzal Khan,” said Simha.

Speaking to media persons, he asked, “Does Lad have any commonsense? Can’t he digest his food, if he doesn't talk about Prime Minister Narendra Modi? When media persons ask him about Neha Hiremath’s murder, he says ‘ask Modi’. Does he need Modi's permission to encounter a murderer? It's been a year. Has he given justice to Neha? What happened to the Labour department's health kit scam? Is he competent enough to lecture Modi?”

Neha Hiremath, a MCA student of BVB College in Hubballi, was murdered by her college mate Fayaz Khondunaik on April 18, 2024.
.Case registered after man spots banner of Pakistan flag on road in Karnataka's Kundapur.
Simha asked, “What did the late prime minister Indira Gandhi achieve in the 1971 war? She ruined its result, despite victory. Modi facilitated the return of Kannadigas from Kashmir, after the Pahalgam terrorist attack on tourists. What is Lad’s achievement in it? Why does he speak as if Modi is the cause of all evils?”

“Pakistan alone is not our enemy. Such internal enemies among us are like time bombs. Lad, who is mired in mining money, has become arrogant. Lad speaks with the arrogance of money power. But, journalists have ethics. He escaped from the labour kit scam, because it was lost due to the graver MUDA scam allegations against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah,” he said.

“Pakistan itself gave evidence of the attacks on it. Yet, some people in India argue like fools. The Congress always has a soft corner for Pakistan. If Ambedkar had been our first Prime Minister, we would not have been in this situation, now. Ambedkar understood the Muslim mindset well,” he said.

“Ambedkar’s photo should be printed on currency notes, along with that of Mahatma Gandhi. We should stop looking up to him only from the reservation perspective. His broad vision should be acknowledged,” Simha said.
