The petitioner, B Binny, a native of Kozhikode in Kerala had appeared for the CET exams conducted in the month of May, and had secured a good rank. However, when the authorities rejected his application on June 12, he challenged it in the Court.
In his submission he said that he studied in the State for seven years from Standard 1 to Standard 7 at a school on Magadi Road.
Justice B S Patil, who heard the matter, observed that the CET brochure clearly mentioned that only students who completed SSLC or PU along with his primary and middle schooling are eligible to take up the CET in the State.
