The High Court of Karnataka on Monday orally refused to grant stay on the proceedings initiated against government officials who were booked by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

Petitioners K T Nagaraj, chief engineer, BBMP; Kale Gowda, assistant engineer, Public Works Department, Mandya and others had approached the division bench seeking stay on the proceedings against them. The petitioners had sought stay on the grounds that a similar petition was stayed before the Supreme Court.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice S K Mukherjee and Justice P S Dinesh Kumar said the matter will be taken up after vacation. In the PIL challenging the formation of the ACB, the bench ordered notice to the Lokayukta.
