<p>Bengaluru: Heavy rains continued to lash coastal districts, parts of Malnad and Kalyana Karnataka regions on Wednesday.</p>.<p>Raichur continued to witness intermittent spells of heavy rain.</p>.<p>A young couple died after a decades old banyan tree fell on them in Mudgal of Lingasugur taluk, Raichur district. Ramesh Gududappa (25) and his wife Anusuya (22) were riding in a moped to their native Nagalapur when the tree came crashing on them. Their three-year-old daughter Soujanya was injured in the incident.</p>.<p><strong>Bridge washed away</strong></p>.<p>A makeshift bridge across a stream at Pattepur in Raichur taluk has washed away following a flash flood on late Tuesday night. The district administration has asked people living in low-lying areas and on river banks to move to safer locations.</p>.<p>Bhatkal and Honnavar taluks have received an average 110 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. Kumta and Karwar have experienced 100 mm and 80 mm of rain, respectively.</p>.<p>Mangaluru city witnessed spells of heavy rain <br>throughout the day. Kundapur, Baindoor, Brahmavar, Hebri, Karkala and Kaup continued to experience sharp showers.</p>.<p>Rainfall has intensified in Chikkamagaluru district. Heavy rain in the ghats including Mullayanagiri, Kudremukh and Charmadi, is causing hardships for motorists.</p>.<p>The <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/imd">IMD</a> has forecast heavy rain for the next three days in the hilly district.</p>.<p>Several parts of Kodagu district, including Bhagamandala, Sampaje, Madikeri and Shantalli, have been receiving incessant rain since Tuesday night.</p>
