Heavy rains cause mishaps across Karnataka

Multiple accidents occurred on Monday because of heavy rain across the state. However, no casualties were reported. Those injured have been shifted to hospitals for treatment.

Chikkamagalur

A car driver was severely injured when his vehicle collided with a lorry head-on at Bargal in the ghat area in the rain, on Monday. The injured driver was shifted to a Chikkamagalur hospital. The accident took place between Handi and Kelagur. The car was approaching from Moodigere and the lorry from Chikkamagalur, Aldur police said.

Hassan

A KSRTC bus crashed into a house in Holenarsipur in Hassan district when the steering wheel mechanism failed due to the rain, on Monday. The driver escaped with minor injuries. The Hassan bus was on its way to Mysuru.

Bidar

Due to water logging on the bridge, a cruiser fell into a tank at Kalasadala-Manjura Kheda village, Balki taluk, Bidar district, on Sunday. No casualties were reported. The submerged vehicle was lifted out of the tank with earth moving equipment on Monday.
