<p>Mangaluru: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, yoga practitioners, students, elected representatives, and the public participated in a mass yoga session, at Town Hall in Mangaluru.</p><p>The event was organised by Dakshina Kannada district administration, Ayush department, Ayush college, and members of various organisations.</p><p>Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Darshan H V said that yoga should become part of our life and should not be restricted for a day. For a healthy life, yoga is essential. Yoga is not practised in India alone. It is practised all over the world.</p><p>MP Capt Brijesh Chowta said, "Yoga is a way of life for Indians. Yoga has the power to unite the entire human race."</p>.Yoga holds key to happy life, says Fadnavis; Shinde calls for inculcating practice in children.<p>Yoga guru Gopalakrishna Delampady and his disciples guided the participants through the session.</p><p>He guided participants into doing different asanas and also highlighted the importance of each posture. As per Ayush protocol, Yoga practice began with prayer, followed by neck bending, trunk movement, knee movement, yogasanas with standing, sitting, supine posture, pranayama, meditation and peace mantra.</p><p>MLC Manjunath Bhandari, ZP CEO Dr Anandh K, MLAs Dr Bharath Shetty, Vedavyasa Kamath, District Ayush Officer Dr Iqbal and others were present.</p>.Visually impaired children perform yoga in Mysuru.<p>Mangaluru International Airport observed International Day of Yoga at the domestic arrival hall of the aiRport. Yoga instructors r Kumar Shenoy and Skanda S Navada from Delampady Yoga Foundation guided the participants on yoga activities as prescribed by the Ministry of Ayush. Skanda also vowed the gathering with a sterling display of difficult yogasanas, which he executed with ease. Stakeholders from CISF, airline, ground handling agencies, airport, customs participated in the hour long session. The yoga instructors subsequently also engaged the passengers - explaining benefits of yoga, teaching them simple yoga activities including the use of mudras and breathing techniques.</p>
