<p>Police said dacoits gained entry into the jewellery shop by breaking the locks and front shutters with iron rods. The rods used by the dacoits were hardened iron ones usually used by owners of four-wheelers for lifting jacks and tightening wheel nuts.<br /><br />Ornaments and gold biscuits, which were packed in boxes, and necklaces that were on display in the showcase were stolen. Silver ornaments and small-sized gold ornaments including finger rings and earrings were left untouched by them. They dumped the empty boxes in front of the shop before fleeing.<br /><br />The jewellery shop was hardly about one kilometre away from jurisdictional police station. Another police vehicle with armed personnel too has now been stationed near a mosque few meters away from the crime spot. <br /><br />Khade Bazaar witnesses movement of vehicles round the clock. In addition, with the holy month of Ramzan being in progress, movement of people on the road was continuous due to its access to the 24 hour shopping near Darbar Galli.
