Karnataka govt did not prepare for caste census: B Y Vijayendra after extension of Dasara holidays

Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra on Friday said that the state government had been unduly hasty in ordering the Social and Educational Survey – caste census – without preparing the ground for such a vast exercise.

Pointing to teachers facing problems while conducting the survey, Vijayendra said, “Extension of holidays so teachers can complete the survey is causing problems for government school students in rural areas. Each day at school is crucial for children but the government has extended the vacation, disrupting academic activities.”

Expressing dismay over the condition of Bengaluru’s roads, Vijayendra said, “The people of Bengaluru are disgusted with this government. Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar is busy counting potholes near the PM’s residence, while Bengaluru’s citizens are struggling to find the road amidst all the potholes. The people of Bengaluru want immediate action and not empty promises.”

The Karnataka BJP chief opined that the administrative machinery in the state was in disarray under the Congress. “Heavy rain in North Karnataka has plunged the farmers in distress. Neither the Agriculture nor the Revenue minister has visited the affected regions. If you don’t have time to visit aggrieved farmers, you should not remain ministers. The opposition parties called on the affected people, while the CM took decisions via video-conference while sitting in an AC cabin,” said Vijayendra.
