<p>Hearing a public interest litigation filed by P Laxmiprasad Botyadi, resident of Puttur, the division bench comprising of Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice Manjula Chellur stayed the notification issued by the law university for the academic year of 2010-2011 pertaining to fixing of age limit to admission to three and five years LLB.<br /><br />The University had fixed 30 years upper age limit for three years LLB and 20 years age limit for five years LLB courses, the University had also fixed an age limit of 35 years for three course, while it is 22 years for five years course.<br /><br />The petitioner contended that though the court had stayed the earlier notification of the University, once again it had issued fresh notification. <br /><br />“The notification curtailed the right to education of the students as well as the right to livelyhood,” the petitioner said.<br /><br />Seeking to quash the notification, he said that the rules prescribing maximum age limit is arbitrary and liable to be struck down as unconstitutional.</p>
