<p>Kadur: Unidentified miscreants on Wednesday night dug up the floor of a 1,000 year old a temple in search of hidden treasure.</p><p>The Kalleshwara Trikura temple, near M Kodihalli lake is a 1,000 year-old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.</p><p>A Basava statue is also placed on the 'natya vritta' in the 'Navaranga' area of the temple. The miscreants, in their attempt to find treasure underground, lifted the heavy stone slab and dug five feet below the ground and from there again eight feet to the side like a tunnel.</p>.Sravanagudi’s treasure trove of inscriptions .<p>Before digging the floor, they also reportedly performed a ritual placing a copper sheet, a small clay pot and lemon near all the four pillars of Navaranga.</p><p>Police personnel visited the spot to conduct a probe into the incident.</p><p>The temple was built during the reign of Hoysala ruler Narasimha-I, according to an inscription.</p>
