<p>Mysuru: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar defended the role of cops following the mob attack on Udayagiri Police Station saying they have not done anything wrong.</p><p>“Whatever others say is not important. I assert, as the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, that the police have not committed any mistake in the Mysuru Udayagiri Police Station incident,” said Shivakumar while talking to media persons in Mysuru regarding the criticism against the police, over the mob-attack on Udayagiri Police Station.</p>.'Is Udayagiri in Pakistan, does Constitution not apply there': BJP's R Ashoka on Mysuru police station attack .<p>Defending the police action in reaction to the attack, Shivakumar said, they have discharged their duty well, in handling the situation. “Even though a few police personnel, including a couple of higher officials, sustained injuries, they have taken timely action. I'm with our police,” he added.</p><p>In reply to a question, Shivakumar, who was in Mysuru, after participating in the 13 Kumbha Mela at the Triveni Sangama, in T Narsipur town on Tuesday night, said, “Those who pelted stones were Muslim youth, minors, in the age group of 14 to 15. They don't listen to even religious leaders. Leaders and seniors have tried their best, to control the mob. At least the police had some protection gear. But, the people there were helpless. The police are tracing the attackers”.</p>.Tense situation in Mysuru: Minister blames cops.<p>Reacting to a question on the criticism of Minister K N Rajanna, that the Udayagiri Police did not act in a proper way, in the incident, Shivakumar said, </p><p>“Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will respond to it. At present, the CM is not able to talk to the media. But, he will talk on the issue, in the next eight to 10 days. However, standing on the Mysuru soil, I assert that the Police have not committed any mistake”.</p>
