<p>Mangaluru: The driver of a pickup truck and secretary of a mosque was hacked to death in Kambodi Ira Kodi near Kuriyal village in Bantwal rural police station limits on Tuesday.</p>.<p>The deceased, Abdul Rahim (34) from Kolattamajalu near Badaga Bellur village, was unloading sand from his truck at Kambodi Ira Kodi when he was assaulted with choppers by two miscreants. Mohammed Shafi, who was assisting Rahim, was also attacked by the duo, who fled on a motorbike. </p>.<p>Both the victims were admitted to the hospital where Rahim was declared dead. </p>.Man, daughter critically injured in bus-car collision in Dakshina Kannada.<p>The incident comes weeks after rowdy-sheeter and Hindutva activist Suhas Shetty’s murder on May 1. Police have clamped prohibitory orders from May 27 to 30 (6 pm), under col 163 of BNS across Dakshina Kannada district.</p>.<p>Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police Yatish N rushed to the spot and said the miscreants will be arrested at the earliest. </p>.<p>Hundreds of youths gathered outside the private hospital and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits. SDPI district president Anwar Sadat said that after the murder of Suhas Shetty, there have been assaults on Muslims with choppers at more than 15 places over a month.</p>.<p>DK district in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao condemned the murder and directed DG &IGP over phone, to take necessary measures to maintain law and order in the region.</p>
