<p>Mysuru: Mysuru Deputy Commissioner G Lakshmikanth Reddy has disqualified four BJP councillors of Nanjangud town, on Wednesday.</p><p>The membership of the four BJP members, who had defected to the Congress during the Nanjangud City Municipal Council (CMC) election has been cancelled by the DC.</p><p>Even though the BJP and JD(S) alliance had a majority in the CMC, Congress leader Srikantaswamy won the election and became the president with the support of the councillors in question. </p><p>The four BJP members are Girish Kumar (Ward No 1), Gayatri Murugesh (Ward No 12), Meenakshi Nagaraj (Ward No 22), and Vijayalakshmi Kumar (Ward No 27). </p>.BJP MLA in Mysuru complains of discrimination, denial of funds for roads in segment.<p>They violated the BJP’s whip by abstaining from voting, thereby facilitating the victory of the Congress candidate. The alliance nominee was defeated.</p><p>BJP Nanjangud city president Siddaraju and member Deva had filed a complaint with the DC regarding this, on October 29, 2024. The DC’s court, after conducting a hearing, canceled the membership of these members, under the Anti-Defection Law.</p>
