NEET: Students find Physics tough

Among the students who took the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on Sunday, a few of them found Physics questions tougher compared to other subject questions.

Speaking to DH, Nidhi said, ‘’It went well overall. As I had worked out the previous question papers of NEET, I found several repeated questions this time and it wasn’t that tough as I imagined to be.’’

Another student Vishwajith said that in Zoology and Botany, there were a lot of solving type questions. While in other two subjects, there were comparatively more direct questions. “I am hopeful of getting a total of 400 out of 720 marks,” he said.

Gagan from Puttur said that he found Physics a little bit tougher compared to other three subjects. Chemistry was easy. There were good facilities at the examination hall, he added.

Another student Radhika too said that she found physics tougher when compared to other subjects.

The students who had come with bags were asked not to take it inside the examination centre at a few centres in Mangaluru. As a result, bags were found kept in front of shops situated outside the examination centres. Parents were seen eagerly waiting outside the examination centres for their wards to return after the exam.

Ramanna, a parent, said, “Though the guidelines stated that the students had to be present inside the examination hall by 12.45 pm, a few centres had not opened the gate till 1.30 pm. As a result, the students had to wait under the hot sun outside.”

A few students who had come with a photocopy of the Aadhaar card faced tense moments for sometime as the officials refused to allow them inside the examination hall. Later, they were allowed to write the exam.

Victim writes exam

Suchetha, a student of Excellent PU College in Kundapura, arrived at Madhava Kripa School in an ambulance from hospital to write NEET exam.

Speaking to DH, Suchetha’s father Suresh said, “Suchetha had met with an accident after the car in which she was travelling by rammed a tree while trying to avoid hitting a lorry on May 1 at Brahmavar. She had suffered serious injuries on her right leg and was admitted to KMC-Manipal for treatment. As she wanted to write NEET exam, we took permission from the doctor and left for the examination hall in an ambulance at 12.45 pm. After writing the exam, she has been taken back to hospital.”
