<p>Kalaburagi: Former minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/c-m-ibrahim">C M Ibrahim </a>said a new regional party will take birth in the state on January 24. </p><p>He was speaking at a meeting organised by Nava Karnataka Nirmana Andolana, in Kalaburagi on Sunday. </p>.<p>Ibrahim said that he would be soon holding discussions with like-minded people to decide on the party’s symbol. He added that the new party will follow the ideology of Basavanna and Dr B R Ambedkar.</p><p>The 77-year-old was expelled from JD(S) in 2023 on charges of anti-party activities. </p><p>He was heading the state unit of JD(S) before falling out of favour with party patriarch H D Deve Gowda.</p><p>Ibrahim held Civil Aviation portfolio when Deve Gowda was the Prime Minister of the country. </p>
