<p>Bengaluru: Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai on Friday said that ‘One Nation, One Election’ (ONOE) would make national parties think regionally and vice-versa. </p>.<p>Speaking at an interactive session here, Annamalai said ONOE could attract more young voters to participate in voting.</p>.<p>“In the existing system, we are conducting elections one after the other and it is discouraging voters, especially young voters from taking part in the voting process. When it is One Election for the entire nation, everyone will participate and celebrate it,” he stated.</p>.Annamalai dubs Stalin 'hyprocrite' for alleging Hindi imposition.<p>Meanwhile, Annamalai claimed that ONOE will also help reduce the election expenditure. With the implementation of ONOE we can donate Rs4.5 lakh crore to the GDP which will be saved from the election expenditure,” he added.</p>.<p>Annamalai said that ONOE is not an imposition, instead it is a measure in the interest of the welfare of the public.</p>.<p><strong>Implementation by 2034</strong></p>.<p>“If everything goes well, it will be implemented for the 2034 elections,” Annamalai said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He also provided the data on expenditure by candidates during the 2024 Lob Sabha elections.</p>.<p class="bodytext">According to him, candidates have spent a total of Rs 1.75 lakh crore during the Lok Sabha elections. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Jayanagar MLA C K Ramamurthy, ONOE awareness committee state convener Naveen Shivaprakash, Jain University vice president Ravindra Bhandary, retired IPS officer Bhaskar Rao and others were present. </p>
