Paddy fields inundated

The incessant rain in Mudigere taluk has thrown normal life out of gear.

The uprooting of a huge tree at Bhairapura disrupted the movement of vehicles on Bhairapura-Erike.

The rivers are in spate in the taluk. Water from the Hemavathi river has inundated paddy fields and is inching towards a retaining wall at Uggehalli.

As Bhairapura, Guthi, Moolarahalli, Devarunda, Hanthooru, Koove, Niduvale, Javali, and Balooru have been experiencing heavy rainfall, the growers are fearing fruit rot disease affecting the coffee and pepper crops.

The paddy seedlings have been inundated. The farming activities have come to a standstill in the taluk.
The mist on Charmadi Ghat affected the movement of motorists.

In Sringeri

Rain continued to lash Sringeri taluk. Trees uprooted and fell on Sringeri-Theerthahalli Road at Koranakodige, Sringeri, Jayapura Road and disrupted the movement of vehicles.

Kappeshankara Temple at Sharata Mutt is inundated in Sringeri.
