<p><br />Upa Lokayukta Justice Subhash B Adi has sought an action taken report in the wake of the Supreme Court order that government advertisements should only display photographs of the president, prime minister and chief justice of India.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The Upa Lokayukta has issued directions to the Principal Secretary, Kannada, Culture and Information Department to submit the action taken report by June 17. It has been brought to light that several advertisement hoardings in the City still display photographs of the chief minister and other ministers despite the Supreme Court order against it.<br /><br />The order of the Apex Court is binding on all the concerned and it is the duty of the State government to enforce the law as laid down. It has been observed that despite the judgement, the State government has not taken any steps to remove photographs of the chief minister and other politicians from advertisements. There has also been no efforts to implement the Supreme Court order, Justice Adi stated. <br /><br />Saidatta, a social activist, has filed a complaint stating that the government was spending a huge amount of money on advertisements with photographs of politicians. The complainant submitted a copy of the Supreme Court order dated May 13 and stated that one such advertisement hoarding issued by the government recently displays the photographs of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his Cabinet colleague Roshan Baig and his son.<br /></p>
