Plan size: CM to meet Montek Singh

Addressing a press conference in Bangalore, State’s special representative to New Delhi Dhananjay Kumar said the State government would impress the Planning Commission to fix the plan size at Rs 29,500 crore, an increase of Rs 6,500 crore compared to the previous year.

The delegation will comprise Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Board D H Shankaramurthy and several Cabinet ministers, Dhananjay Kumar said.

Meanwhile, the Centre has released Rs 52.26 crore as its share to Calamity Relief Fund for 2009-10, as per the recommendation of the 12th Finance Commission.

The Centre has also released Rs 83.83 crore as recommended by the high level committee for management of drought of September 2008, he added.
