Probe into Shiroor Mutt seer's death if needed: CM

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday said the government would, if necessary, order an enquiry into the death of Shiroor Mutt seer Lakshmivara Theertha Swami.

“Some people are terming it to be a suspicious death. If necessary, an enquiry will be ordered,” he told reporters on seeking to know whether the government will order a probe.

Home Minister G Parameshwara said he had heard people suspecting foul play in the seer's death.

"However, there has been no complaint so far in this regard," he added.
