Online service is available both for collection and payment. The service of BSNL, Mescom and Cell One has been utilised for collection and Cash on Delivery (COD) is becoming popular for payment. Western Union Money Transfer is enabled money transfer from foreign countries to India. The service is available in all post offices and maximum 30 transactions (one lakh Dollar) can be done per annum. Similar service is available with Money Gram, he said. <br /><br />Alert facility<br /><br />India Post mobile App and website (www.indiapost.gov.in) also provide various facilities to customers. With the app, customer can avail the message alert facility. Using the website, the customer can track the international speed post. The customers can also register online complaints against the department if there is any problem with the service. A complaint which should not exceed 200 words can be uploaded and it would be verified by the department in six-levels. However, the volume of complaints received by the department is just 30 to 40 per month, he said. <br /><br />In e-commerce sector, the department has joined hands with Flipkart, Myntra, Snapdeal, StarCJ, Yepme and payment is being done through cash on delivery system. The department has signed for an understanding with M-Vikarsha last month, to provide e-commerce service in rural area. The mobile money transfer and instant money order- a web based service also received well by the customers. <br /><br />The department is planned eight different projects like rural information and communication technology- hardware, rural ICT- system integration, data centre and facility, core system integrator, financial services system integrator, mail service operations hardware, network integrator and change management. Meanwhile, he said that the service of DHL may be fast as it has delivery establishments all over the world. The department depends on government to government which delays the process, he said.
