<p class="title">Children of ESI Insured Persons are entitled to reservation in MBBS/BDS seats at ESIC (Employees’ State Insurance Corporation) Medical Colleges under Insured Person (IP) Quota.</p>.<p class="bodytext">ESIC, a statutory body established by an Act of the Parliament, under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, had set up medical educational institutions across the country.</p>.<p class="bodytext">There are 317 MBBS and 22 BDS seats reserved for the children of ESI insured persons in the different colleges run by ESIC/on behalf of the ESIC, all over the country, ESIC Director In-charge S Sivaramakrishnan stated in a press release.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Those who are insured under the ESI scheme as on October 31, 2018, can avail the benefit of reservation of medical seats in respect of their children.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Eligible candidates, who have appeared in the NEET exam, 2019, may apply online using the link https://www.esichospitals.gov.in/admissionportal</p>.<p class="bodytext">According to sources, the condition for eligibility had been relaxed from this academic year.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Earlier the insured person (IP) should have been covered for a minimum of five years, along with minimum days of contribution paid to ESIC, to enable his son/daughter to become eligible for the medical seat under IP Quota. Now, any person who is registered with ESIC as an insured person (31-10-18), can get his children to apply for the seat under IP quota.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The applications should be submitted online before May 28.
