Renovation work on temples in Hoddur in progress

The renovation work of temples, taken up by the villagers in Hoddur village, is in progress.

The work on the renovation of Bhagavathi Temple, situated beside Napoklu-Murnad, is in progress, while the renovation work on Sri Shasta Eshwara Temple is nearing completion.

The Punarprathishtapana Mahotsava of the temple will be held from February 12 to 17.

Bhagavathi Temple is one of the oldest temples and has a history of 600 years. There are traces of a palace belonging to Raja Mayuravarma at the place. The village also has Gurupeetha of Macchendranatha.

Bhagavathi Temple is being renovated at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore. Under the guidance of Marakada Kshetra pontiff Narendranath Yogeshwareshwara Swami, the villagers have taken up the work on the renovation of the temple, said temple renovation committee member Chowreera Uday.
