<p>Secretary of MCC and Vani Vilas Water Works Contractors Association, Shivanne Gowda on Tuesday said that exclusive sand policy for the district is doing more harm than good.</p>.<p> <br /><br />Addressing media in the city, Shivanne Gowda said that the policy is putting common man to contractors and also the construction industry into hardship. <br /><br />Insufficient<br /><br />In the existing system, only one permit for each lorry is allowed collecting 200 to 300 loads of sand per day. <br /><br />Still, it is insufficient to a city like Mysore, as there is a demand for 1000 to 1,500 loads per day.<br /><br />If the situation continues the same, it will be difficult to carry out the works. <br /><br />Meanwhile, Mysore City Local Lorry Owners Association has announced to continue with their strike. <br /><br />Addressing media, president of the association B Revanna laid down his demands as follows; providing two permits for each lorry, stop the sand that is being transported illegally, revise the cost as the diesel price has increased twice after the implementation of sand policy. <br /><br />He also warned of suspending the services of other construction materials too.<br /></p>
