<p> The State government on Tuesday kick-started the process of receiving applications from those aspiring to own a house under "Mukya Mantri 1-lakh Housing Programme." </p>.<p class="bodytext">Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who started the process at his home office "Krishna," said the programme is meant for economically weaker section in Bengaluru.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Houses will be built on the land provided by the Revenue department on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation Ltd will implement the project, he added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Annual income limit for submitting the application under the programme is Rs 87,000. And those who want to avail the programme should be residents of Bengaluru for a minimum of five years.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Cost of houses varies from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh. The government has decided to provide Rs 3.50 lakh subsidy SCs/STs, while others will be Rs given Rs 1.50 lakh subsidy, he added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The application has to be submitted online.</p>
