The signboard mentions two destinations- Ullal beach and Kateel temple. As per the board, Kateel is at a distance of 41 km. In fact, one can reach Kateel by just travelling 20 kms!

For this shortcut, one has to travel through Pakshikere road via Kinnigoli that begins from Haleyangady junction. But the signboard has been erected far away from Haleyangady junction, due to which people are forced to travel extra distance.
The Tourism Department guides the traveller to take the route of Surathkal-MRPL Road-Bajpe to reach Kateel so that it becomes 41 km! Thus the traveller is made to travel double of the actual distance.

Public are of the view that if the signboard is re-erected at Haleyangady junction, it would help hundreds of travellers everyday.
