<p>Belagavi: Karnataka Public Works Department and District Incharge Minister Satish Jarkiholi said that he would urge Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to convene special legislature session for discussing the Social Economic Survey report (caste census) as there has been "panic and opposition" for the report from section of people including elected representatives. "Time of three to four days should be earmarked for the discussions as legislature was the best forum to discuss the issue and get problems, if any, resolved," he said.</p><p>Jarkiholi told reporters here on Tuesday that all issues pertaining to the caste census report should be discussed. "It needs to be discussed in the cabinet and public. Legislature was the best forum for the report to be discussed and special legislature session should be called. Queries and all doubts of everybody should be addressed."</p>.Karnataka | BJP terms caste census report outdated, unscientific, asks Congress to junk it.<p>To a query on Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar holding meeting of legislators from Vokkaliga community regarding the caste census report, he said, there were about 35 MLAs from the Vokkaliga community and there was nothing wrong in them holding the meeting to discuss their concerns. </p><p>He stated that the caste census report would not have any political ramifications and was no way concerned with politics. "We have seen MLAs from different communities elected who hardly had a few thousand votes of the community they belong in the constituency represented by them."</p><p>He said, he himself conducted meeting with the officials from different departments and reviewed progress of works regarding elevated corridor, drinking water, national highways, state highways, forests and location for new deputy commissioners office. "Hidkal dam has sufficient water and will meet the drinking water needs up to the month of June. Elevated corridor works too have been discussed," Jarkiholi said.</p><p>Jarkiholi said, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has not responded to the letter written by Siddaramaiah regarding the release of water from Koyna and Ujani dams to meet the drinking water needs of districts in North Karnataka region. "Maharashtra wants water exchange for which infrastructure needs to be created. Costs will be borne on 50-50 basis, which has to be discussed at government level."</p><p>Responding to Jan Akrosh Yatra organised by BJP here on Wednesday to oppose the hike in price of essential commodities and taxes in the state, he said BJP should also include the hike in prices of petrol, diesel and LPG in their agenda and protest against the Centre, too.</p>
