State BJP President B S Yeddyurappa said that the government sponsored Tipu Jayanthi on Friday will be the last Tipu jayanthi celebration in Karnataka.

Speaking to a section of media persons here on Thursday, he said that in-spite of stiff opposition for Tipu Jayanthi, the government is hell bent on observing it. The BJP will come to power after the assembly election in 2018. Hence, this year's Tipu jayanthi will be the last Tipu Jayanthi in Karnataka, stated Yeddyurappa.

He said that there is no truth in the rumour that Energy Minister D K Shivkumar is joining the BJP. There is no such proposal before the BJP. Scared of the people's support to BJP's Parivarthana rally, the Congressmen are engaged in spreading rumours, he added.

Replying to chief minister's statement that IT officials had invited D K Shivakumar to join the BJP, Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said that many are joining the BJP after accepting its principles.
