The truck belonging to the Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation was heading towards Banavar from Belur.
The driver of the truck lost control of the wheel when he tried to overtake a sand-laden truck and plunged into the lake. Driver Arunkumar and cleaner Gangaraj, who escaped with minor bruises, swam to safety.
